Surf Rock is Dead
Surf Rock is Dead
Hailing from Chicago and Melbourne, Australia respectively, Kevin Pariso and Joel Witenberg together make up the Brooklyn duo, Surf Rock is Dead. Embodying the beachiness of their namesake's genre through a new wave filter, the band have spent the last two years crafting an infectious brand of dream-pop in the vein of Diiv, Day Wave, and Beach Fossils.

“The phrase ‘we have no friends’ is a running joke and half-truth between the band.” Says Pariso about the namesake of the EP. “When we formed the project we would spend late weekend nights jamming and writing music instead of spending it out with friends. Putting time into a creative project definitely can hamper your social life but the idea is that the fruit it bears will be worth the sacrifices.”

Those sacrifices paid off when the band went to record, using music as a way to escape the day-to-day grind and hot NYC summers. Ultimately, the duo was able to build off each other from similar shared experiences to turn song and lyric ideas into the anthemic dream-pop of the five-song EP.

‘We Have No Friends?’ will be released October 6th via The Native Sound on both vinyl and digital formats. Vinyl versions include Surf Rock is Dead’s debut 'SRiD' EP on the B-Side.
Blood Cultures
Blood Cultures
New Jersey's Blood Cultures continues to tease the forthcoming debut album "Happy Birthday," with a fresh cut"Detroit." The track is an intoxicating summer hit with its hypnotic, galaxy-painted synths that will put listeners into a trace as they dance along to digital beats over the milky way.

"His music is more than capable doing the talking for him." - DIY Mag

"Sitting somewhere between the squelchy synths of Jai Paul, and the reverb-laden vocals of Washed Out."- Crack In The Road

"LCD Soundsystem-esque production flair." - HillyDilly
Native Sun
Native Sun
Native Sun is a four-piece rock n roll band from New York City. Loud and urgent, their music breeds a beautiful chaos evocative of each member's experiences. Frontman Danny Gomez first met lead guitarist Jake Pflum while growing up in Florida. After years without contact they reconnected by chance on a random evening in the city, rekindling their friendship over their mutual obsession for The Rolling Stones and Velvet Underground. They immediately forced their best friend Alexis Castro to play drums (who had only just recently began teaching himself how to play). Bassist Mo Martinez uprooted to the city from Monterrey, Mexico. In hopes of playing music he reached out to Danny through mutual friends and naturally completed the band's lineup.
