About Rough Trade NYC
Rough Trade NYC opened in 2013 as the American outpost of the legendary Rough Trade record label and shops in the UK. The Williamsburg location combines a tightly booked live room with a full independent record store under one roof at 64 North 9th Street, between Wythe and Berry. Shows are presented by The Bowery Presents, the same team behind Mercury Lounge, Bowery Ballroom, and Music Hall of Williamsburg.
The live room
The performance space holds a few hundred people standing, which keeps sightlines close and the room loud. Bills lean toward indie rock, electronic artists, hip-hop, and singer-songwriters on the way up. Most nights are general admission. Age limits change by show, so check the individual listing before you buy. Doors usually open about an hour before the posted start time.
The record store
The shop stocks new and used vinyl, CDs, and music books. Staff picks sit next to major releases and hard-to-find pressings. In-store signings, listening parties, and free events run on a separate schedule from the club. The global Rough Trade mail-order catalog is also available through Rough Trade.com.
Getting here
The venue sits one block from the Bedford Avenue stop on the L train. Street parking is available in the neighborhood, though subway is usually faster on show nights. Full transit notes and a map link are on our Directions page.
